Description: This session will address health issues specific to adopted children. The session will discuss methods of address the issues and resources available to facilitators and parents in regards to keeping adopted children healthy. This session will discuss health risks in international adoption, such as developmental delays, communicable diseases, parasites, and speech issues.
Learning Objectives:
1. Session attendees will be able to identify and describe general health issues specific to adopted children.
2. Session attendees will be able to identify and describe methods of addressing general health issues specific to adopted children.
Intended Audience: Mental and behavioral health professionals; adoptive parents
Intended Audience Level: This session is intended for beginning level professionals.
